The single student desk is the classic classroom solution that gives every student their own clearly bounded work area. Sırasan produces five models — Modena, Dünya, Tekno, Elips and Trapezoid — each meeting the same function with a different frame engineering and top configuration. When is a single desk the right choice?
The clearest benefit of a single-desk layout is flexibility. Because desks move one at a time, switching from rows to a U shape, from islands to an examination layout takes minutes. In classrooms used for tests and assessment, physical distance between students is preserved; when the class moves to group work, desks are joined into a shared table.
In crowded classrooms, however, a single layout takes more space. If you have thirty or more students per class we recommend also considering double student desks; distributing the two across a school by room type is a common and efficient arrangement.
How to choose the height step
The most frequent mistake in school desks is buying a single height step for the whole school. The wrong step leads to poor posture and difficulty concentrating over time. All our models are produced in three steps:

Top material comparison
The single most important decision determining a desk's service life is the top material. The frame is the same on most models; the difference appears in the top.

A short rule: the more frequent the wet cleaning, the more compact the material should be. On melamine and MDF-lam tops, wear almost always begins at an unprotected edge; moisture enters through the cut face and the panel never returns to its original state. Werzalit and compact structures have no edge band to lift.
What else does the desk need?
Every model except Elips requires a separate chair. When choosing a student chair we recommend setting the step together with the top height — if the desk is at the right step but the chair is not, ergonomics still fail.

Maintenance and long-term cost
The real cost of a school desk emerges when the unit price is divided by the number of years it lasts. Three items affect that calculation most: the quality of the top edge banding, the tightness of frame joints and the condition of the foot glides.
An annual check covers all three and takes a few minutes. Loose screws are tightened, worn glides replaced, and any opening in the edge band addressed early. Most problems that surface in a desk's second five years would take minutes to solve if caught early. We recommend adding this check to your school's annual maintenance list.

Should we buy single or double student desks?
Your class size and teaching style decide. Single desks are more flexible in classrooms where examinations and individual assessment dominate and where the layout changes often. If you have thirty or more students per class, double desks seat more students in the same area. The common and efficient arrangement is to distribute both across a school by room type; share your classroom dimensions and class sizes and we will work out the distribution together.
Which of the five models should we choose?
Modena is the classic, balanced choice and leaves no vertical leg at the front of the desk. Dünya offers the widest material range — whatever top a tender specifies can be met with the same frame. Tekno carries a contemporary line with its angular box profile frame. Elips combines desk and seat in one body, so no separate chair is needed. Trapezoid, with its angled top, forms group work islands when joined. The comparison table above shows all five side by side.
Which height step should we choose?
We produce three steps: primary (grades 1–4), middle (5–8) and high school (9–12). At the correct step the student's feet rest flat on the floor, elbows sit level with the top and shoulders do not ride up. The most frequent mistake is buying a single step for the whole school. Different steps can be ordered together; share your age distribution class by class and we will work out how many of each you need.
What is the difference between Werzalit and CDF tops?
Werzalit is resin-pressed homogeneous wood fibre; its edges are machined as a rounded profile with no separate band. It has a wood texture and a warm appearance. CDF (compact) has a black-core edge and is markedly more resistant to moisture and scratching. A short rule: the more frequent the wet cleaning, the more compact the material should be. The frame is identical in both options, so you can use them side by side in the same school.
Is a chair included in the desk price?
No, desk and chair are separate lines and appear separately in the quotation. The single exception is the Elips model, where desk and seat are combined in one body and no separate chair is needed. For other models we recommend selecting the chair to match the desk's height step.
Can you produce in our school's colours?
Yes. Frame and modesty screen colours are selected from the RAL chart; simply send the RAL code with your order. Because the same frame can be produced in different colours, you can also colour-code by floor, grade level or department.
What maintenance is required?
An annual check of three items is enough: whether the top edge banding has started to lift, whether frame joint screws have loosened, and whether the foot glides are worn. The check takes a few minutes. Most problems that surface in a desk's second five years would take minutes to solve if caught early.
How do delivery, assembly and pricing work?
Desks are produced at project scale; quantity, top type, colour and height step are set per order. Project surveys are free. Shipping is priced according to order volume and delivery province and is added to the quotation separately; it is not included in the price.
