Conference seating is where comfort and durability are demanded at the same time in hall equipment. People sit uninterrupted for an hour or two in a conference hall; that duration requires a different seating logic from a classroom desk. Why moulded foam matters
Foam is the component that determines how many years the chair stays comfortable. Moulded foam is produced by pouring into a mould, so its density is homogeneous and it resists dipping in the seating surface. Where sheet foam is cut to shape, density distribution is uneven; within a few years a noticeable hollow forms in the middle of the seat.
In a hall with hundreds of chairs that difference is a serious cost item: the upholstery of collapsed chairs has to be renewed one by one. In halls where you expect long service, we recommend always asking about the foam structure.

Hall acoustics and seating
Seating is not usually thought of as an acoustic matter, yet chairs are among the largest surfaces determining how a hall behaves. The acoustic difference between an empty hall and a full one is largely a question of how much sound the chairs absorb.
Fabric-covered, foam-padded chairs absorb sound, reducing the gap between empty and full and keeping what you hear in rehearsal close to what you hear at the actual event. Hard-surfaced, thinly padded chairs produce a noticeable echo when the hall is empty and the sound suddenly "dies" when it fills. This is a further reason why fabric upholstery is preferred in speech-led halls.
Row spacing and comfort
What determines comfort in a conference hall is not the chair alone but the space in front of it. If the distance between rows is insufficient, even the most comfortable chair becomes uncomfortable: the occupant cannot stretch their legs and has to stand up for everyone passing behind.

Hall planning and installation
A conference chair is not a product bought on its own but part of a hall project. Capacity calculation, row spacing, aisle widths and evacuation routes must be determined before chair numbers.
If your hall is tiered, we recommend assessing lecture hall seating alongside conference chairs: in some projects the front tiers are amphitheatre seating and the rear tiers conference chairs. Chairs are installed fixed to the floor, which keeps row alignment from deteriorating over the years and is required for evacuation safety in crowded halls. The floor type (concrete, timber platform, tiered structure) must be known before installation; we establish that on site during the free survey.
Maintenance and long-term use
A conference chair is an investment used for fifteen years and more; over that period maintenance needs are minimal but not zero. We recommend an annual check of the fixing screws — the loosening that develops over time, particularly at armrest and seat connections, leaves no trace if tightened early.
On fabric upholstery, early treatment of spot stains matters; a dried stain does not come out afterwards. On leather, regular wiping and protection from direct sunlight delay surface cracking. If rows of chairs receive long hours of direct sun through the hall windows, a curtain or window film will noticeably extend upholstery life.

Should we choose fabric or leather upholstery?

Leather wipes clean and gives a more formal appearance; it is preferred in protocol halls and meeting rooms. Both options are applied over the same frame and foam structure.

Can we match the chair colour to our corporate identity?
Yes. Fabric and leather upholstery options are chosen from a colour chart; the steel frame colour is selected from the RAL chart. Tell us your corporate colour and we will settle the right combination together.
