Product Description
The trapezoid single student desk is defined by the shape of its top. Instead of a rectangle, a trapezoid is used, so that when desks are pushed together they naturally form an angled line; join a few and you get a hexagonal or semi-circular work island. Produced by Sırasan under code SR 29, this model is designed for classrooms where group work is part of the lesson flow but the individual space of a single desk still matters.
What does a trapezoid top actually do?
A classic rectangular desk allows only two layouts: rows, and facing pairs. Because the trapezoid has angled side edges, desks pushed together leave no gap and form a single closed work surface. Three desks make a semi-circle; six make a full hexagonal island. The teacher can reach the centre of that island and students can see one another.
This matters most in project-based learning, science preparation, speaking activities in language lessons and guidance sessions — anywhere the layout has to change during the lesson. Because the desks are singles, they move one at a time; switching layout takes a few minutes and the classroom returns to rows when the lesson ends. Fixed group tables offer no such flexibility.
Top material options
The trapezoid top is available in four materials, and the choice depends on how heavily the surface will be used and how it will be cleaned.
Melamine is economical with a wide colour range and is sufficient for normal classroom use. MDF-lam has a thicker body and feels heavier and more solid. CDF is a black-core compact structure, noticeably more resistant to moisture and scratching, and stands out where wet cleaning is frequent. Compact laminate is the highest durability class and is chosen for workshops and art rooms where the surface meets paint, glue, water and chemicals.
The frame is identical across all four. That means you can equip different classrooms with different tops and still keep the school visually consistent: ordinary classrooms in melamine, the art room in compact laminate — and the rooms will not look unrelated.
Electrostatic powder-coated frame
The frame is made from steel profile and finished with electrostatic powder coating. Unlike wet paint, powder coating is oven-cured and chemically bonds to the surface, so it does not flake on impact or dull over time. On school furniture — touched hundreds of times a day — this difference becomes visible after a few years.
Colour is chosen from the RAL chart. You can use your school’s corporate colour or request different colours to distinguish floors or grade levels. The feet carry impact-absorbing plastic glides that do not scratch the floor and reduce the noise made when a desk is pulled.
Height steps
The desk is produced in three height steps: primary, middle and high school. At the correct step the student’s feet rest flat on the floor, elbows sit level with the top and shoulders do not ride up. The wrong step leads to poor posture and difficulty concentrating over the long term.
Different steps can be ordered together for the same school. Share the age distribution class by class and we will work out how many of each step you need.
Where is it used?
Trapezoid desks are most often chosen for primary and middle school classrooms, art and music rooms, guidance and group-work rooms and tutoring centres — any space where students change groups often and the layout shifts during the lesson.
For rooms used only for examinations, where the classic row layout is preserved, our rectangular single desks are a more economical solution; tell us your requirement and we will say plainly which model fits better.
Ordering, delivery and project support
The trapezoid single student desk is produced at project scale; quantity, top type, colour and height step are set per order. Project surveys are free — share your classroom dimensions and student numbers and we will prepare a layout proposal together with a price quotation. Shipping is priced according to order volume and delivery province and is added to the quotation separately; it is not included in the product price. We serve all of Türkiye and export abroad.
Production takes place at our own integrated facility in Ankara: metalwork, woodworking, coating and assembly under one roof. Custom sizes, custom colours and mixed orders can therefore be planned without depending on a sub-supplier. All production complies with CE, TSE and ISO 9001 standards.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does a trapezoid desk differ from a rectangular one?
Its side edges are angled. As a result, desks pushed together leave no gap and form a single closed work surface: three desks make a semi-circle, six make a full hexagonal island. Rectangular desks can only produce rows and facing pairs. If you plan to change layout during lessons, choose trapezoid; if you keep the classic row layout, a rectangular top is the better value.
How many desks can I join into a work island?
Three desks form a semi-circle and six form a full hexagon; four- and five-desk arrangements are also possible. Share your classroom dimensions and student numbers and we will prepare a layout proposal showing how many islands fit and how the circulation aisles will run.
Which top material should I choose?
Melamine is sufficient for ordinary classroom use — economical, with a wide colour range. Where wet cleaning is frequent or usage is heavy, CDF stands out: black-core edged and more resistant to moisture and scratching. In spaces that meet paint, glue and chemicals, such as art rooms, compact laminate should be preferred. The frame is the same across all four options, so different classrooms can use different tops while the school stays visually consistent.
Can the frame colour match our school's identity?
Yes. The frame colour is selected from the RAL chart; simply send the RAL code with your order. Because the same frame can be produced in different colours, you can also colour-code by floor, grade level or department.
Is a chair supplied with the desk?
Desks and chairs are separate items and can be ordered together. We select a student chair matching the height step — moulded plastic, Werzalit panel and upholstered options are available. Desk and chair appear as separate lines in the quotation.
How do delivery and assembly work, is shipping included?
We serve all of Türkiye and export abroad. Shipping is priced according to order volume and delivery province and is added to the quotation separately; it is not included in the price. Project surveys are free. We clarify any assembly requirement before the order and state it explicitly in the quotation.
Is there a minimum order quantity, and how does quoting work?
The trapezoid single desk is produced at project scale; quantity, top type, colour and height step are set per order. Share your classroom dimensions and student numbers and we will prepare a layout proposal together with a price quotation. You can use the contact form or write to us on WhatsApp.
