Multi Teacher Desk

The desk’s frame consists of tube profiles curving down to the floor beneath the top and meeting it on skid bases at the ends. That form leaves no vertical leg at the front of the desk. Perforated sheet modesty panel

The modesty panel is produced from perforated sheet finished in the same electrostatic powder coating as the frame. The perforated texture does two jobs. Visually it lightens the desk; because the teacher desk stands at the very front of the classroom and in everyone’s field of view, the weight a solid panel would create is noticeable here. Second, it means the area behind the panel is not completely closed — material placed under the desk gets air, and the odour and moisture build-up that forms in an enclosed volume does not occur.

The panel is functional at the same time: it hides the teacher’s seating position from the class and gives the desk a professional stance. Because the perforation pattern is in the same colour as the frame’s powder coating, it does not stand out as a separate visual element but reads as a continuation of the frame.

Suspended drawer box

The drawer sits inside an independent box suspended beneath the top. That arrangement has two advantages over drawers integrated into the body. The first is positional flexibility: the box can be mounted on the right or the left, so it adapts to the desk’s placement in the room and to the teacher’s working habits. The second is that the drawer is a piece independent of the body — when maintenance or replacement is needed, the whole desk is not involved.

In daily use the drawer is for continuously accessed items: the register, pens, erasers, markers and teaching material. Establishing that order on a teacher desk keeps the top surface clear through the lesson; a cluttered desk affects both the teacher’s work and the appearance of the room.

The drawer box being suspended beneath the top leaves the rest of the space under the desk free. A teacher’s bag, a document box or a basket fits comfortably into that gap, whereas with drawer blocks integrated into the body that area is largely closed off. Which arrangement suits you becomes clear after a short period of use, but for teachers without a cupboard in their classroom this open volume is often the deciding factor.

The top is produced from melamine in a 60×110 cm size. That dimension is a balanced point for a teacher desk: wide enough for a notebook, a laptop and teaching material to sit at the same time, yet compact enough not to narrow the front section of the room. The melamine surface is cleaned by wiping with a damp cloth and offers a closed surface against ink, chalk dust or marker stains.

A top depth of 60 cm also matches today’s classroom use. A teacher desk no longer holds only notebooks and books; a laptop, a projector remote, interactive board pens and usually a water bottle share the same surface. In that crowding, the computer edging towards the side of the desk is a common risk.
